G' day mate! 😃
I'd be interested to know if you can find any info on any standard model beetles down there, especially post '57 big window bugs. 😎

Cheers,

i know of a few standards around if they are the ones with the grey bumpers no headlining or glove box
very plain

this one is not a semaphore job but is a standard

if this is not what you mean give me an example

That's the sort of thing! 😃

European standard beetles have no chrome strips on the body, painted bumpers, door handles, only one horn grill on the left front wing, cable brakes and the early pre 1950 style steering wheel. They have very basic interiors, just the middle section of the headlining and the front seats are bolted to the floor.

Nicholas' is a good good example of a German Left hand drive 1960 Standard. Right hand drive examples are very rare over here!

I'm looking for a set of black rubber floor mats for my RHD 1958 standard which should be the same as late oval mats - 4 mats with 2 round holes on each which locate on pegs on the floorpan.

Big window standard model beetles...

$200 for a '58 sounds like a bit of a bargain to me! 😎

If the mats are the right ones and in good condition, I would be interested in them and the bonnet badge - if it's the flat pressed one with three round pins on the back?

Are there any bits you're after for your car that I might be able to get over here for you? or I could just buy the mats and badge from you if that's easier? (assuming you do buy the car)

will do my best to get the car sorted but the old german guy who owns it is a fruit cake and is hard to get a hold of
i will check the mats out and take a pic for you in the next couple of days

Paul
