Then it started to look as a nice Oval again 😎

New tires, radials, only because their cheaper then the old ones, but eventually I will buy some whithwalls

Almost drivable :lol:

had some problems with the carburator, so I had to install a filter, problem solved :lol:

While my starter is beeing rebuilt, had to install another one from the '60´s, cleaned it and painted with zinc primer, but at least it works :wink:

Thats what i love about these cars ,the interchangability is endless .Your a fast worker to ,only yesterday it was a rusty shell and today its like new again:lol:

I also have a july 53 .Do you have the chassis number ?to see how many cars apart we are.You can email me if you dont want it online.

A few weeks ago I had to replace the retainer in the transmission cas (sorry don't know if it is the right word in english :oops: ) it was leaking pretty bad

a few pic's

engine out

removed the old retainer

and replaced it and apllied some silicone glue

Thats a real pain i think i will do mine(we call that a seal ,the same spelling as the animal!) as i have the engine out alrady for a rebuild.Here is my car:

Hello again, your '53 is perfect :d what a nice ride it must be.

thanks for the "seal" it was by far the worst thing I had to fix in my '53, big pain.... :evil:

Thanks ,My car really isnt perfect though, but i just enjoy driving it for now.i wish we had the sunshine like you it looks a nice part of the world that you live.looks like you have quite a following for VWs ,that must be nice .ihave nothing where i live apart from the internet of course .Do you have any other Vws ?
