I was recently sent this by Alexander Fritz, great info and photos!

Karosserie- & Fahrzeugbau Arno Lindner at Mohorn near Dresden was founded in 1930. Before World War II, Arno Lindner built carriages and handmade coaches. After the war, the city of Dresden became part of the Soviet occupied zone and later part of the German Democratic Republic (GDR). Because there were only a few cars left and also nearly no material available, Arno Lindner and his son, who also had learned coachbuilding, manufactured in their factory with 15 craftsmen cars of wood and steel like before the war.

Years: 1953 - 1959
Pcs. built: 13 cars
engine: Porsche 356, brought to GDR with support of Ferry Porsche

Specification: Designed by Falk and Knut Reimann (both students of car design in Dresden/ Professor Jante). Built by Karosserie Arno Lindner.
Body made of steel and wood – frame based on VW type 82 Kübelwagen or early Beetle chassis. The car was presented at the "Dresdner Handwerkschau" 1954 and found some rich buyers, like Miersch (owner of a shoe factory), only in the GDR, mostly in Dresden and Berlin.
Since the twin brothers Knut and Falk Reimann had presented their car at the Porsche factory in Zuffenhausen, Ferry Porsche himself helped them to get engine parts to build their own 356 Porsche engine. Many other lindner owners did the same.
From the thierteen cars that were once built, only three are still existing, one of them is well known as „Miersch“, another one is currently restaurated with the help of Knut and Falk Reimann (now aged 82).
