Wow...how unusual! How did you come across this Malcolm? It probably is a 1971 import although....it wouldn't have WET 329, a pre-63 registration, but
a 'J' registration number plate, wouldn't it? Could find out at DVLA if it's still on the road...

DVLA check says:

"Vehicle details could not be found"

So doesn't look good. Isn't that paper just connected with the tax in '71 Malc? I would think that as stated on the paperwork, this was a car registered in May 1960.

It's a continuation or replacement log book issued in August 1971 for a Beetle first registered here in 1960.

Don't see much special about this, the original buff coloured log book would be more interesting.

A point to note though that back in the '50s and early '60s the 'Beetle' was the Volkswagen and the name Standard is used to designate the model type, as opposed of course to the other model the Deluxe.8)

That's a little more interesting I think :?:

Rattletrap – the Volkswagen Beetle that has covered an incredible mileage equivalent to over 35 times around the planet :omg:
Running nifty since 1950… the King of Volkswagens:beer: Why not make friends with this famous little VW – he's on facebook!
