Who sells dated GB plates like the one in the picture below? I've seen a few sellers with them at shows recently but none had a 19GB55 one for sale. Presumably this isn't exclusively a VW thing but my Googling skills are letting me down badly here?! Any ideas, please?

Thanks guys. Neither of those suppliers has them in stock. VW Emporium can get them within 3 weeks so I might end up waiting until then.

I've got a '19 GB 50' one you can have if you want to lie about your age!

None at KK either.

The car has all the features of a '54, perhaps we should lie and use the 54 plate, after all nobody wil ever know! 😎

Why not treat your bug to an original period GB plate?

I reckon it would look much nicer on your car!

ebay '50s GB plate...

I have one the same as this that I painted black and then polished the letters to match the numberplate...  gb_plate.jpg You have insufficient rights to see the content.  heb_back.jpg You have insufficient rights to see the content.

Malc, thats a point, I have this one that I found a while ago that I may be willing to share...

So you polished your letters? Have you got a photo as I was just planning on painting them white with a black background! 😎 It was going to go on my 63 but on second thoughts it would probably look better on her!

Malc, on a different note, it looks like 601 had a later twin tailpipe exhaust? How did you get round the pipes not clearing the valence with no cutouts? We have had to cut and weld one to allow the tailpipes (well, one now) angle down?

It's an original period 'performance' exhaust similar to the abarth style ones
