Just browsing mobile.de as I often do. I have noticed in recent times that more and more people are starting to ask astronomical prices for mediocre Beetles in Germany. Let's hope this isn't the start of a global trend! Check out the following ads and the asking prices...

As the values of Splits and Ovals increase beyond some collector's reach, they turn to the later models.

Thus demand for the later models increases and their values rise, as one would expect

PS: I might be willing to sell my 1969 unrestored low mileage Beetle. One owner until August 2009. I want £50,000.

...Yet hope remains (as the Lady Galadriel said in Lord of the Rings!)

This very rare 1965 Standard model is for sale at a very very reasonable price, considering the rarity of this model.
It might not be an oval or a split and it may have little commercial value but numbers will definitely confirm that they are far rarer.
When's the last time you saw one?

It was very rusty and halfway parted out anyhow, so don´t feel too bad. It was shiney though John, so you can rest easy.:p
