When you are in VW's you have to know that the chrome rings and more specific the position of the adjustment screws is different on a Hella than on a Bosch!
And when you are sure that the rings you have are the originals you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out witch lens is fitting on which ring? Or do you?
Bosch rings have the holes positioned 12 and 3 o'clock!
Hella ringshave the holes both at the down side at 4 and 8 o'clock!

sorry to jump on thread but are headlamps and lenses different from rhd/lhd?

i can see the markings differ,so assume deflector moves from either side depending on if its a rhd or lhd lense?

just trying to find a correct matching pair!

Hi, I think you are right and they used both. just to maintain supply. Although some periods do seem to be predominantly either but I dont know how deliberate that is. Its one of those endless discussions. Though I dont know which way uk cars swing for every year. Rich O will have a better viewpoint.

Yes lhd & rhd glass is different on 60's onwards lenses but you can just go through the mot wearing 'tape' if you want to keep a car correct

It's just the lens that is different between LHD/RHD, and it's easy to tell which is which... all RHD lenses have an arrow towards the bottom of the lens pointing to the right as you look at it.
