Hi fellows,

For those who like early factory/assembly b/w photo's from 1953, that recently were found at a flea market, this book has some very nice close-ups. The author is Mr. Bernd Wiersch. There was also a movie shot at the same time.
Edit: the movies title is "Aus eigener kraft"

Oh yes, I'm going through it right now.
There's a photo on page 136 that shows the use of filler (bondo) to my surprise!! Never knew they used that stuff at the factory...

I think it's the most recent book of "Delius Klasing".

Thanks Pete,that's a big surprise.

Now ET will have to restore his Heb for the fourth time,just to put the Bondo back in :wink:

Here's another one, look at the color of the intake and the overall mess. I guess it's because of the bright lights being used but def not black..  greasy motor (Small).JPG You have insufficient rights to see the content.

That looks like stopper not filler to me but I could be wrong.

It maybe Andy,but a stopper is still a form of filler,albeit just for finishing.
Something, that i believe none of us imagined,Volkswagen put into our factory finished cars.

Just supports what I've always thought.

People over-restore these eary cars, lashing them with shiny paint as well:thumbdn:

However, I'm not convinced these are 1953 factory shots - 1943 would be more in keeping.

The picture must be after 1950 because the car in the picture has holes for the deluxe trim.

Blue, blue, Electric Blue, that's the colour of Old Blue!
