Owen actually has some NOS pieces of this carpet believe it or not :shock: :lol: He says he thinks he has the right year/style BUT also that there is more than one colour though they look quite similar? When I am back next week I will let you know if there is a 'grey' and £. (Shouldnt be too much)
The other option you have is to get a piece of rear luggage area carpet of the same type from someone breaking one, then carefully unpick the old cloth binding and make new ones re-using old carpet and old binding too! Its quite effective I have made a pair of splitbug footwell side pieces from 1 piece of 1950 luggage carpet ( there was only just enough original binding to get all round)
Or buy new carpet from Newton Commercial who now sell the Dylan Cheesley OEM type. ( I believe its a near perfect match to OG carpet)
I dont know if anyone else on this forum has fitted the Newton carpet? Maybe they can give it feedback?!
