Hi Everyone,

As well as a dented filler neck the fuel outlet on the bottom of my 47s tank also needs work, the original fitting has been removed and a different style fitting has been brazed in place. I need to remove this so I can use the correct reserve tap, so my question is what do I need to replace it, does the standard connection bolt into the tank with a nut inside or is it welded to the tank ?

Looking at the parts books I have it looks like it is welded to the tank, therefore I presume I need a donor tank to cut the part from but what year tank is suitable ? up to 1960 when the fuel gauge was introduced ? I believe early and late reserve taps have the same thread but i'm not 100% sure.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers
Kev
