I have a vdo electric fuel gauge in my 63 aussie bug shell, which looks just like the mechanical version, except at the back. There are four spade terminals. The top is the light, bottom to the sender, which just leaves (when viewed from behind) one on the left and one on the right. I guess one is positive and one earth, but which way round? Or am i totally wrong?
