Hello can anybody help please im trying to fit a front windscreen in to a new rubber that i bought from karmen konnection this week, i have had some new glass cut and its identical thickness as the old glass but its all most impossible to open up the grove in the rubber to fit the glass in, has anybody got any tricks ideas that might help please as im having big problems here. my cars 58 beetle

have the edges of your new glass been ground smooth and slightly rounded off?
If a sharp edge is evident that may be your main problem.
I have found a good lubricant is 'Talcom powder' for glass/rubber. It enables you to maintain a faily good grip on the glass.
