It started today, my 58 bug has started making a squeaking noise when I turn left at slow speed, especially the more I turn the steering wheel. Anyone know what this might be, bushes, dampners, bearings??? It only happens when I turn left??

Try disconnecting the speedo cable at the wheel first, it may be that, and you could check the wheel bearings at the same time.

Mmmmm I can't really see it being the speedo cable, the sound seems to be coming from inside, possibly bottom of the steering column. Any ideas??? 😞

if its a constant squeal when you're turning left, then I'd say its more than likely a wheel bearing.

Well for a check that's going to take all of 5 mins to do, I would have thought it was worth it, but that's up to you of course......
