Does anyone know what colour and material the ragtop cover should be on a 55 Texas Brown (L271). Also, does anyone know a reputable supplier who makes good quality reproductions of these covers for early three folds, not just a "one fits all" type job! :wink:

I recon I'm (we're!) capable of fitting a 3-fold ourselves, but repairing the roof using that section (and having it look okay too) is probably beyond what I'd want take on while learning! I suppose we could buy a post-67 Beetle and cut it up for roof grafting practice? :shock:

Fixing this roof isn't a cost-orientated exercise as such, but buying that fixed roof and paying someone to fit it might well be approaching the cost of the 3-fold that I'm hoping to be able to DIY?

Thanks Malc, I think we are going to go down to ragtop route as to fit a solid clip like that and make it look right without tons of filler would be to cut down to pillars and for me that is just getting into the realms of a bloody cut'n'shut! :shock: :lol:
