The famous old Swiss car scrapyard in Kaufdorf is holding an auction of over 800 cars on 19th September. Sad I reckon as the place should have been left as it is but knowing Switzerland I bet government bureaucracy is enforcing a clean up.

34 Volkswagens are listed (8 Splits inc a 49 std, 3 Ovals and a 55 Ghia) There's also a 57 Cabrio :shock: Not seen pics of this one before (Dave you need to buy it for the semaphore boxes! :lol: ):

Besides the 2 Porsche 356 A's that you always see pics of there's a 57 356A Cabriolet in there! :shock:

However, my pick and I'm tempted to bid on this one (I have a Swiss friend who is attending the auction as he has his eye on something :wink: ) is this 1950 Sunroof. Most of the cars look like just wrecks but this one looks like it could be saved:

That Kabrio looks a lot cleaner than how yours started out Martin!

I don´t doubt all these cars will go for stupid money since they are from the "famous" scrapyard.

That Kabrio looks a lot cleaner than how yours started out Martin!

I don´t doubt all these cars will go for stupid money since they are from the "famous" scrapyard.

My split beetle knowledge is about as extensive as that of the variation of the soil acidity of the amazon rainforest but the earliest that can be is a '50 model I think? :?
