Hello,
Carsten posted this pict in the sambagallery.
Now, besides it is a nice old pict, I noticed something odd...
Not the two lovers:oops: , not the combiwagon in the front  , but on the car there is something strange :omg: .

Can you help me to find out what is strange?:sneaky:  831284s.jpg You have insufficient rights to see the content.

You are all right.... the louvers are for sure there.

NO side trim nor engine cover trim.
The number plate ends on 3636....and here is the same plate on the same car ..Only with side trim and flags. To bad the nr is gone in the front.
The cars still is around and known but the pict with no trim got my attention. Weird. :?

Yes ET. I checked all other picts on that car and in 1 it is clear that it is indeed an 8. All others are like a 6. The paperwork says also that it is an 8.
You win this time...

Why they had removed the trim for a while, I do not know.
At least the Heb is still alive.

And it usually had side trim for all his life.

Hi Peter,

"Cal - Look" Heb? Hmmmmmm

I thought that Hebmuller was responsible for PUTTING TRIM ON early sedans, and the creation of the DELUXE or EXPORT Beetle?

Any further comment on why this car appears without trim? Is it the early black car seen in the promotional literature which also has no trim (on the decklid only?)

Lastly, it also appears to be the first "OVAL WINDOW / CAL - LOOK HEB!"
