Got to Tatton Park :d and met up with Robert Meekings on the Historic stand who i recognised straight away from years back when we used to meet at the Goose pub by Ogden Water in the NSU days. I tride to have a chat with Rod Sleigh but every time i went to his stall he was busy with customers or on walkerabout. Looked at some very nice cars and got some more models for the colection (one being a 1-24th scale hebmuller body shell). Saw a beetle pedalcar that was interesting but kept my money in my pocket for if the 58 turns up. All in all a nice show but how things have changed since i was last there. Andy

Sorry Rob,took the camera, but it stayed locked in the car.The place was full of Dodgy Northerners, you know:wink::lol:

There were some nice cars, think Charles probably won the cabrio class, again. And there were a few very nice Ovals.Only Split i saw was Keith Viponds '52 standard sunroof.

Trade area was a little poor with many totally unrelated stalls.

Good to meet and chat to a few that come on here and are members of the HVWOC.

P.S Car goes like a little rocket,Andy did a nice job on the motor.

Hopefully it runs a little bit longer than the one installed in your cabrio.

PS: the Hebmuller will not be equipped with an Okrasa kit! I hope an original setup is to your satisfaction too! hahaha

Yes Charles did win the flat screen cabrio class with his Iris Blue '56.

Nice to talk to you George, and to Chris. Yes that little 30bhp engine sounds really sweet.

Then watch the speed limits George, these little motors can perform pretty well!
You don't have to drive it like Andy did.

Don't worry Piet,i only went 100Km an hour at the fastest point on the motorway. But you could tell it was good for more.
I have to be a good boy,one more month and i will have a clean driving licence back again.Speeding endorsements stay on for five years here in the U.K:x (yes i know, the answer to that one is easy)

I can remember giving my friends oval a shake down after a long hibernation and boy did that seem to go a lot better than a 70s 1300 i was running at the time Andy

I think it has something to do with all the restrictions on the 1965+ carbs. These 30hp engines sure are vital and they breath a lot better.
I had that same impression on a 54 ET once owned.
It vanished in the distance while I was like idling on the spot in my 1200 mexican beetle.:omg: Sure impressed me!

I too took my camera with good intentions.....

.... but ended up not taking a single shot

Had a good day out, made all the better by having the pleasure of getting a lift there in that lovely oval that Andy restored and is now lovingly looked after by George.

Spent most of the day sat in the HVWOC tent, or chatting to other people that I haven't seen for too long.

Cheers to George for the lift
