My friend Paul took his '57 oval into the Sahara a couple of years ago as part of the Budapest Bamako rally.

This year he's taking the oval the opposite direction and heading to the north of Norway. It's a couple of thousand miles to get up there and a couple of thousand back, depending on diversions to interesting places. This time it's not part of a rally, he's on his own.

He's still sorting out the final bits of his blog and when it's ready I'll post the link for those who are interested. He's setting off Sunday night.

OK, here's the link to his blog - with photos from his Sahara trip. He's hopefully going to be updating the blog via his phone while he's on the road, so should be interesting to follow his progress...

He's off! He set off last night, crossed the channel about 10 o'clock, drove through Belgium and us now in Holland.
