Hi all. Richard Cotton emailed me recently, great to hear from him again! I emigrated to Australia in 2001 and have been busy with all sorts of things other than VW's. Anyhow, I still have my ex-Rhodesian January 1952 Standard RHD and have discovered that there are two others in Australia which is good to know. Every ex-Rhodesian standard split I have seen has been medium blue. Haven't driven my split for ages, but a couple of weeks back got her a new battery and enjoyed using the crash box again. Still not that mad keen on cable brakes though.....

Cheers, Andrew.

Richard Cotton and I got back together recently after around 14 years. We talked solid for 5 hours about old Beetles.

I've known him for over 30 years, its good that he's getting back into the vintage VW scene of which he is very knowledgeable and respected.

Seems very nice for the 8 -10.5 gbp estimate (even with the deluxe bits)

Interesting body number on it: 9 2 17
Doesn't seem to fit in with the normal production run. Do all Rhodesian splits have similar?

From what I understand it was raced early in its live and was smashed. It may have a later front clip?
