Enjoyed my trip to Hessisch Oldendorf very much. Been there before, but now for the first time as a participant. Longest drive since I bought my T34, all went smooth and comfortable. I covered some 1000kms in total and found out that the 1600 engine is quite fuel efficient at long distance drives. Before I left in Hessisch I topped up the fuel tank and about 5 hours later, when I arrived in my hometown Lier, I did the same. I only managed to put 28,7 liters of fuel in the tank, to my own surprise that was…! Having covered a distance of 402kms, this means the fuel consumption was way below the average for a T34 on the home journey: only 6,91 liters/100kms (0,34 miles/gallon)...! I must add that I drove at a relaxing 90-100km/h and the backwind was helping a bit. Nevertheless, it means that the 41 year old original engine is still doing well, nice to know…!
Hessisch was a great show, only a handful of T34’s, but nice ones. Here are some pictures:
Johannes Krasenbrink’s amazingly 1500S, probably the most original early T34 on the planet (1962):
Nice restored 1963 convertible from Joerg Fischer, one of only five remaining M341 prototypes:
From Belgium also, a 1969 Cypress green with very nice brown interior, owned by Manfred Veithen:
And ofcourse this one:
