Hello all,
Can anybody explain to me the difference between the symmetric and asymmetric headlamp systems? I take it the asymmetric glass lens doesn't have the wedge shaped pattern set into it. How then is the headlamp beam thrown down to the nearside on dipped beam? I understand the reflectors aren't interchangeable. What is the difference between them? Or does the reflector play a part in deflecting the beam to the left?
I have the wrong pattern asymmetric lenses fitted to my '55 oval and thought it would be a straightforward matter to swap the glass lenses over for the correct symmetric ones. Is it that simple?
Andy.

I just swapped the lenses. Seems fine. I doubt Bosch would have gone to the trouble of making two different reflectors when they could get away with one. Its all in the aim.

The adjustment in the reflector directs the beam in Symmetrical units.
