Well i was told my help wasnt wanted, so there you go, after someone read my (joking) post on a 'private' forum saying lets go anyway for a laugh and do wheel spins, they took it the wrong way, so there you go

Anyway I fully supoort this show, and from what i can see people on SSVC are NOT having a go about your show, they are just keen to visit and only have non stock cars so want to know where you would like them to park.

People WANT to support this show it is an excellent idea something the UK needs, and a whole load of us will be attending, but please tell us where to park up so we dont upset anyone!

I really hope that you have something else arranged other than the village hall carpark, as most summer weekends its impossible to park anyway after 10am!!

Once again, i will offer my help if it is needed, i live 3 miles away from the village, and our barn is on the edge of the village, i also know the largest landowners in the area.

If i can help at all please let me know.. just cos my cars not stock doesnt mean im not clucking to see a whole line up of cars that are!!

Thanks

There are people that don't 'get it' and may turn up and try to get noticed by doing wheels spins, loud music etc. The trouble with this kind of thing is that the locals will remember for the future and won't allow another VW show in Lavenham again.

Your support and anyone else's is welcome, there may well be people who require mechanical assistance over the weekend and having a VW specialist on the doorstep could be a big advantage.

LOL! The locals are very used to us and our noisy old cars, and generally love them  its normally the tourists that get confused!

We have done the classic car show on the village playing field and the organisers actually phoned up to say how much the people of the village had loved our vans, and would we go the year after 😃

As i mentioned before if its possible, id try and get the playing field booked for parking if its available, or it could be just a bit gridlocked !

Just thought I'd say I have nothing against heavily moded VWs at all.

In fact, over Christmas my '68 Cal looker (which I've owned since 1989) has been fitted with dropped spindles and a 4" narrowed beam!

I'll get my coat!

Anyway, as Rob said, all help, especially local, will be most welcome. We would rather work with you guys at The Bus Barn and Restowagen etc. to make sure everyone has a good weekend. Perhaps we could meet up with you next time we visit Lavenham?

Oh, and just because we haven't published full details of every aspect of the show yet, doesn't mean we aren't trying to sort everything out! We try to only publish stuff once details are finalised though.

If you haven't signed the guest book yet, keep an eye on the news page as the latest info is published there shortly after if gets emailed out.

😃

P.S. I'd also like to point out that although mrsherbie is a hardcore 'stock' fanatic, she isn't actually involved in organising the show. I believe she will be there with some of her stock vehicles. Perhaps someone registered on the SSVC forum would like to mention that over there!

Sorry Malc, you're now banned from the forum...

I'm currently planning the mods for my next car and it includes a roll cage

Cool im glad its all going ahead (i can imagine what a nightmare it all is, i know organising our open day is enough of a hassle!) 😃

I do know several local landowners so if you get stuck for parking/ camping i will try my best to help, so please just drop me a line, or if you need someone to pop up the village to check parking numbers/take pictures whatever 😃

I was a little suprised to read B&B details for nearby accommodation posted on the SSVC forum, but yet nothing mentioned here? Especially for the people planning to come from mainland Europe as I know that accommodation is their main concern, as friends who were planning to come think (quite rightly) that the organisation is getting very late in the day. I would have thought they were a priority?

I was planning to post that myself but gave up bothering after wasting time trying to clarify your principles of your show. But then you could have told me that yourself over the past day or so, I am right here as well you know.
At the rate it is going I doubt we will bother or trading. So maybe you are better off without us there anyway.
Hell there are plenty of other stock traders.

Apologies for not mincing with words. But I dont personally think mincing gets anything done.

Replying by emails in private is better you see

Sorry Anna, didn't mean to upset you.
It's just that from some of the replies you were getting asking you questions about the show, I think some people thought you were one of the organisers. I didn't want to register over there (I only have a bay!) and I knew that stussy was on both sites looking at the Lavenham threads.

Emailing me back might have been easier. And you dont need to own a splitvan to join the ssvc or post on the forum.
