Hello folks, anyone been in business with the Dutch fellow who is advertizing early vert wood bows in the ads?
https://www.pre67vw.com/classifieds/detail.aspx?id=522
Met him, saw some nice looking bits and pieces for oval verts, got my og split vert pieces back from Finland for him to be used as models for his production, and now no contact for several months by email or phone.
Hope he is fine - any info appreciated.
Thanks, Heikki

Hallo ET, yes I know his name. His alias jwkon is an abbrevation of it. However this is not critical as I still have my og wood with me. I´ve learned the hard way trusting no-one in this hobby and keeping my valuables very close to me.

Besides he is not the only carpenter in this world. If he ever was such - the pictures in his ad are borrowed from Chuck's convertible parts web page

You must be cautious, but do not beat everybody with the same stick.
There are people in this hobby i would trust no end.
You must decide if a person cares about their reputation, usually, if they do you will find you can trust them.

OK ET so trust no one in the VW hobby.
What about Guido,Opa and most of all ET.
Come on my friend, that is a very broad comment to make.
Close,but NO cigar.

OK OK don't shoot me!
I swallow my words but not all![-x
Real enhousiasts so people really busy with the VW hobby you can trust!
As money comes at stake watch out than! But once you are busy with smooth talkers or people who say they can help you but who let the misery come over you than I say I don't trust nobody no more!
What concerns Guido I can say that he is a big help for me!
Actually a blessing!
I know I am not the most easy person to deal with but atleast I am a person you can rely on! When I have to do something for somebody I try to do my best without ripping him off! And yes Guido is thinking just like that!
When Opa and Armen saw how bad my heb was "restored" by that Dutch "stupid son of a .....", they concluded that I was ripped off!!!
Afterwards Opa, Armen and Guido decided to restore and help me to bring the heb back on the road again! And this all for a very fair price! (anyway cheaper than that Dutch "adventure"!!!)

 ET

ps I am honest when I say I consider Opa as a father to me!
Armen and Guido are like brothers!

Heikki you still get that cigar, don't worry!

I have learned to also be careful. I thought I was connecting a fellow enthusiast with an Okrasa kit just to see it being flipped here in the classifieds. That kind of stuff gives this hobby a bad name.[-x
