On my 50 Karmann Convertible the original seats have chromed lever arms for the seat adjustment. I have checked that also beetles 1950-51 also have the same chromed arms.

It must have been the same chromed arms on Hebmullers. Do any of you guys have the original seat in your Hebmuller you can check?

Excuse me for the bad focus of the picture.

Hi,
They have standard model pans, so should have the bolt down seats.

Is it true that all Hebmullers had the standard seat?

As far as I know. Mine (#601) built 14th Feb 1950 and still has it's original chassis with cable brakes and bolt-down seats.
I think I've read somewhere that some of the very late ones had hydraulic brakes, perhaps the ones assembled by Karmann?

What body number is yours and when was it built?

I have a chassis from 1953 on my Heb. I have body number 134. I thought all Hebmullers have deluxe seats.

I looked in the sep 1950 parts book and the only pan for a Heb is the standard pan wit hold down clamps for the seats  the Karman could have 3 different pans, standard, export with cablebrakes and export with hydralic brakes

A fiend of mine which has the Hebmuller # 410 says that he has the original deluxe seats with the rails and the same fabric as Vintagevw. I will take some pictures later.

I'll try to find out when they started to use the rails.
I guess it was about mid 1949 but I'm not sure.(on deluxe models)

Hello, guy's.
Hebmullers with cloth seats ( standard)had clamps to hold the seats.
Hebmullers with leather or simili leather seats ( deluxe ) had....rails.
I am not sure about the chrome handle but it might be correct.

For your interest:
The floorpans delivered to Hebmuller were standard floorpans.
The rails are delivered separate.
The body's are delivered without roofs.

For ET; Black and yellow was indeed a color combination that was possible. I know 2 cars and one of them is for sure original paint.
Greetings, Peter.

That is also the only difference between the 2 versions...
The cloth interior was the same as factorybuilt beetles, the fabric for the back seat and pannels were trimmed at Hebmuller.
The leather interior was complete made at hebmuller.

I have studied the Hebmuller for a long time and learned alot. Sometimes I even find new things after al those years, even today as the brake lightassembly was made in 2 versions  .

I wish that I could find a real cheap one for myself, but I know I am not alone with that wish

Greetings, Peter

Because the chassis of my Heb has clamps to hold the seats I should use cloth on my seats!
NO WAY!!! 😳
I will use leather! (or simili)
My bottom is allergic to cloth covered seats!

It looks nicer and the use of leather (simili)is more durable than that in a bad quality reproduced cloth!
