Hi all you HO goers!

Unfortunately I'm not going to be able to make so wanted to see if anyone can help me out?

I've been looking for a "nice" 55 stamped 80mph trip speedo for some time and can't seem to find one. HO may be a good opportunity for one to turn up so I was thinking perhaps someone who is going could look out for one for me?

If you think you can help, send me a PM and I'll discuss the logistics (contact when you find one, paying etc)

Tks

You'll be surprised what UK market items come up in Europe JD. Especially in Germany. I would say HO and Camberg would be the best places to find such a thing.

Had a look on The Samba and there is only one clear needle trip speedo but it has no date stamp? The guy says its not a repro and it is in a bit of a state so im sure he's right!

I may be wrong here but were they not made by VDO? This may be the reason why there is no date stamp? Would make it a hell of a lot easier to find one!

I really want this however and it is just two months off my bug!

That one's a 90mph version Will so no good for me!

Much better to find one with a Pt.No and date stamp on it, just to authenticate it but if it's cheap enough...

I've put up a thread on the samba about date codes on clear needle trip speedos as from what ive seen they did not have a date stamp!

From the samba it is a bit inconclusive but what I have found out is that the casing is different (see the two bumps) and some peoples are dated and some arent! :?

Really helpful!

I can only comment based on my own experience in that my clear needle trip speedo, as well as having the bumps has the date stamp in both ink and impressed form? :?:
It also has the part number for a trip speedo impressed also....
