The forum was taken down last night following a thread that descended into what can only be described as an online fight. I can't begin to tell you how disheartening this is after spending so much time building the site, it really made me question why I bother. It is also extremely damaging to the site as it puts people off joining or taking part.

People have different opinions, that's what makes forums interesting - if everyone agreed all the time then what would be the point? However, I really have no interest in being the policeman for people who can't control their keyboard.

So the forum is back online, a lot has been deleted and my enthusiasm has been dented.

Wouldn't have minded the test card if that funny music was on.

Couldn't believe it when it was down, I had to watch big brother!!

Perhaps the offending elements should read Hello or Juicy Weekly they would then realise what a fantastic forum it is.

I think I'm going to turn the forum off more often... since putting it back up there seems to have been a flurry of great new threads added. :lol: :lol:

Although I'm the caretaker around here, it's ultimately all of YOU who make this forum what it is... THANKS :d :beer: :beer:

If it was not for our strong passion, then we would not even meet here!
The more passion, the more potential friction ( ask me I am an expert :lol: )

But I for one am glad none of us are dull!

Why did you oblique the word 'Rattletrap' from my copy? Its rather sad, besmirching Tony Levy's car.

He did more for for the early Beetle movement in this counrty with that car than anyone on these forums could ever hope to manage. He helped lay the foundations that we all stand on. He was notching up the publicity and creating interest in vintage Beetles long before you were a thought I expect :roll:

I've checked again... there is approx 65 miles between the IP address that Ovaltine uses and the IP that Standard Split uses. Maybe Standard Split has a country retreat in cambridgeshire or they really are two different people...
