A friend here wants to get his 67 Karmann Beetle really authentic looking - and we are debating over the colour of the wheels. I know a hardtop would have had black and white wheels, but my pal is convinced that his car should have all black rims and those ally discs held on by the hubcaps (with the slots in). Anybody know for sure, or have any brochure pictures that would settle this?

So indeed all black wheels.

Oh no! Not what I wanted to hear. I think those ally trims look awful! Thanks though.
