I have a barndoor bus with 6volts and original running gear, 30hp etc. At the moment i'm just using a 'new' 6 volt battery from GSF. I want to change to a more vintage looking battery, i've heard the black rubber ones are not that good. Is anyone using a 6v optima battery? I have seen this 'cloaking' box, that would make an optima look better.

Have a word with the ford side valve owners club. some of them use period looking 6v batterys and may be able to point you in the right direction.

Im using an optima yelow top 6v in my 56 bug. Amazing battery, cured all my starting issues but pricey though!

I've had an Optima red 6v in the Oval since last summer.
I don't drive it much and it always starts fine even after sitting in the garage for over a month.

I would recommend them.
