Running a website like this, I'm in a very lucky position to be contacted by VW enthusiasts from around the world, many of them sending me photos etc. But most of the time, these are sent in confidence and I'm asked not to post them on the site.

I received an email the other day from a guy who claimed he had some Kdf cars, so of course I replied and asked to see photos - half expecting to be disappointed by either not getting any or finding out that they're not Kdf's at all... But I promptly received some very cool photos with the permission to post them on the site

What an amazing collection.

It would be fantastic if the owner joined the forum and posted on here to tell us about his collection.

The same owner has contacted me recently for any info about Type 87 books that we may be able to supply. Sadly there is nothing available that he didn't already have.

What an amazing car the Type 87 is with its 4 wheel drive also. I do find the rifle a little chilling none the less.

I thought that all the Beetles before 1950 had pressed-in blanking dash panels. This car sports a removeable panel:?

If I was fortunate enough to be able to take such a VW home I think that I'd be spending the night in it. I can imagine the wife's reaction!
1956 VW Beetle, 1962 Morris Minor, 1968 VW Beetle (Old Blue), 1972 Morris Mini, 2005 MGTF

Blue, blue, Electric Blue, that's the colour of Old Blue!

87 and typ 82e in Hong Kong,

Hello here,
both cars look very nice but they are both copies. The typ 87 was build from a friend of about 5 years ago. He had to sell this car becaus he got devorsed ( ? ).
He used a late split body and and orginal swimmer parts from typ 166 and 128.

Thanks Christian. When he contacted me he explained that the car was a copy made up from various other vehicles. I just forgot to point that out earlier in this thread.

Divorced, not the first VW fan to suffer that problem!

And sure enough, the car is a built-up copy, albeit a very good one.

If my memory serves me well, I seem to remember that Everett from TheSamba.com was also contacted and asked to post up pictures of the same car. It is a very nice replica though.
