I have this question on wich I can not find the answer.
The wheels of a 53 oval convert are painted black where the tire sits, I think.
The outside part from the rim is painted in body color.
Is it correct that the part of the rim that you seen next to the tire( so the part that at my guess is black) is indeed black? or should it have the body color?

I think I have it right but I am not sure about it. Someone tells me that it is painted complete in body color, also the part of the rim where the shoulde of the tire sits against?

I hope this question is clear....

And no, I do not have a 53 convert:x ...I got this question from a friend:twisted:
Thanks for the input.

Thanks JD. It helps in a way...now I am even more confused.
But I think  my thinking is correct...inner side black, outside color.

Yes you are definitely right, the wheels are painted all black and then the colour is put on the outside only. We have a lot of og paint 50's wheels early and late oval here all like that. We have quite a few old nos wheels and they are all black.
