All these big engine transplants mean you can pick up some bargain 30hp engines on ebay - just got a 1960 only engine for Clare's beetle, engine number just two months out from the missing original. Complete for £30! :shock:

Glad you liked the photos. I know what you mean about cheap 30hp's, I managed to pick up a short block for £10 at vanfest last weekend. 😃 The parts will be useful if anything major ever breaks on mine.

Hi there, I got a good digital image last week of my Iceland Green '56 oval with my friend's yellow 1957 oval, this was taken in the TukiTuki Valley between Napier and Hastings, on a glorious summer's day in NZ.  13599.jpg You have insufficient rights to see the content.

My US spec 56 that is very complete and will be my next project.
I plan to put it on the road doing only mechanical overhaul.
