I was thinking maybe a nice old split would be more 'universal'?

actually only on there while I sorted my stock wheels and tyres out. But I cannot deny the power of the mightly Fuchs, they are beautiful old wheels. If they had been still og paint I would have fitted nice skinny tall tyres and kept them on.
Owen's 50 currently has 50's 356 wheels on big tyres stock height, and will have his og paint old sprints on big tyres soon, so technically it is still a completely stock car but with genuine period accessory wheels, same as our samba.
In fact a couple of years back there was a beautiful pearl white beetle featured that was stock but on 356 drums and wheels. I remember seeing it at Stonor park. Anyone remember it? ( I bet Rich O will!?)

While on the topic, recently I have been re-reading my vw magazines, and in particular Uncle Keith Seume's Cal look archives (which I skipped over before  ) and he highlights how originally in the 60's the first beetles raced were standard height beetles, in fact proper nose up in the air! but with accessory/non stock wheels! :d LONG before people started lowering them which was a much later change in look.
Despite being teased at the time for being able to get my head in my front arch over the wheel, I was actually being very cool and I didnt even know it!

I am very suprised people nowadays are not copying that original 60's look, instead of following the same old boring lowered sheep look. Especially as furrowed beams are a modern invention by some fool who obviously never needed to drive round corners

Anyway!

Yes split or oval on shirt, or some split initially, and then you could get some done with oval on later? ( might appeal to more people as there are more oval owners?) then I will have to have another 2!

A nice split or oval sounds good! A heb or coachbuilt etc just seems a bit specialist!

What about the rears of a split, oval and small window car all in line? :? :d In order of age!

I was thinking along those lines as well, 54 Gertie. Put that on the front and something like "www.pre67vw.com" and "Keep it stock" on the back?

Or how about some kind of slogan in German? Think of what we want in English & I'm sure Jean (my better half) would translate it into German for us, if I promised her I'd stop talking vintage Beetles for a whole day?

They'd be for reference only, so condition isn't important. Do you know anyone with the 3rd? 😎

Great ideas,
I recon the 3 cars on the back with the 'stock..the new custom' slogan either underneath or split; 'stock....' above with 'the new custom' below.
Then on the front a 'Pre67vw' logo on the left breast.

Stock......the new custom
