Anyone got any ideas for what ferry they are on yet?

Maybe on my own* so would like to sneak into a cruise of some sorts.

Cheers

* Not all bad as at least Amanda will not know how much i spend on accessories at the show.
You can never have too many accessories on your car. 🙂

No that would be all wrong.
Why do so many people go for whitewall tyres?Don't think there was a car that came out of the factory with them on,certainly never seen it pictured.
It's an American thing. They can look so right on their big '50's cars but VW's are too small a car, they look all wheel.

They would look pretty funny on my camo car, like clown shoes

Oh I dont know, maybe I will change my mind yet, but I think deep down at some time everyone secretly succumbs to the overwhelming urge of having them on a car at least once?
And I have never had a car that could carry them off before!
I thought they might make the beige oval look 'pretty' :D
Although I admit with the pale beige outer rims It might look a bit 'wedding cake'
But Hey you only live once! I am not touching anything on the car at all so it's the only thing.
I always thought they were only a US market thing, but Owen says a lot of Swedish ovals did wear them ( I would guess into the 60's?) so they are still seen as acceptable.
Far more so than on British cars I guess.
Anyway, I have sent him on a mission to find me some nice nos ones so we will see!

For me, it depends on the car. They wouldn't look right on either of yours George. For 60's era cars I think they look great!!  15163.jpg You have insufficient rights to see the content.

ok! top idea!
Just fitted some repro 'curb feelers' and repro eyelids. Its all coming together nicely.

I agree Rob, I have been looking though all my books, the 60's was when the whitewall thing really seemed to start appearing on brand new beetles in Europe, although more of the thinner bands going towards 70's.

Great pic! And a '55! :D

Do you think those men who are smiling whilst polishing are actually really that happy? Or have they just been instructed to 'smile' just for the photo.. :? (or get the sack!)
Hmm, I'm off to Argos to buy some cubic zirconia and araldite..

Pascal's new lowlight, in excellent original condition, has been built for the swedish market in '57, and with the option "white wall tyres". It still des have them on.

So, don't worry, just do it! 😃

And actually, a Pre-A looks also gorgeous with white walls...
