hi,

I have a petrol tap in my 1954 oval. It has only two positions. 6 & 9 o'clock. I thought these had 3 positions 3,6 & 9 O'clock. I need clarification

You have the later, post 7/55 type tap fitted. The lever has been fitted 180 degrees out too. It should be on main tank at 12 O/C and reserve at 3 O/C. The intermediate position is off.

This is a picture of the earlier type of fuel tap. This one is off at 9 o'clock, on at 12 o'clock and reserve at 3 o'clock.
