Why does my 67 Beetle glovebox not spring open when i press the chrome button, i have to put my finger nail in the panel gap and pull it down at the same time as pressing the button. Is this normal or is there a spring or something missing.
Is this why i keep seeing EMPI glove box pulls for sale?

Check the 2 rubber stoppers-as the lid is just about to catch,see if the rubber stoppers offer any resistance.This resitance is what springs it open.Thay may need replacing.
